Bogue Sound Clam Chowder

1 qt. clams
1 1/3 c. onion, chopped
1/3 c. salt pork or bacon fat
3 c. potatoes, diced
Salt and pepper to taste

Clean chop clams to desired size. Add onions and clams. Cover with water or clam juice, add fat drippings and cook 30 minutes or until tender. Then add potatoes, let come to boil. Cook until potatoes are creamy. Season to taste. Serves 6.
