Oyster Stew

1 quart Oysters
1 quart scalded milk
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. salt
1 small onion, grated
A dash or two of pepper

Clean Oysters by placing in a colander and pouring a cup of cold water over them. Put Oysters in hot butter and leave until the edges curl. Scald milk, add Oysters and butter. Serve at once.
