Oyster Stew

1 Stick of Butter
1 qt Fresh oysters
4 c Milk
1 c Table cream
1 Stick butter
1 ts Salt
Pepper to suit taste

In a large frying pan add the butter. Melt over low heat. Add 1 quart of fresh oysters, simmer approximately 15 minutes. Add the oysters from the frying pan to a pot containing the remaining ingredeints. Simmer until hot (don't boil). Serve with oyster crackers.

Variation: add diced carrots and onions to the pot.
